My Earth

MY EARTH

We were blessed to have been invited to open The World Design Congress performing on The wonderful Barbican stage. We were asked to perform My Earth, mainly because the extraordinary voice of Jane Goodall was to make her address following our performance. We were to walk onto the stage with no announcement, perform our song and leave the stage, opening the way for one of Jane's last addresses to us all. What an honour! What a moment for our children' s choir to have been there. Thank you, World Design Congress for inviting us.

Verse

Look at the stars,                                                the oceans and the seas,

I know the story                                                  of how we came to be

We are the stars

And we are the earth

The air we breathe

To them we owe our birth

Chorus

The Earth is our mother

Our father, the sun

The moon is our sister

From where we all began

And through the long march

To where we are now

We’re one with the sky

The sun and the plough

Bridge

Oh Oh This is My Earth,

This is my home

Oh Oh

From nature I am grown

Verse

Look at the moon

How it moves the sea

The flowing tides

And how they came to be

I love my home

Where we live among the stars

Share-ing the wonder (of this)

Of this Planet that is ours

Chorus

The earth is our mother

The moon is our sister

From where we all began

And through the long march

To where we are now

We‘re one with the sky

The sun and the plough
